NCJWC Toronto has been successful in receiving approval from the City of Toronto proclaiming Wednesday, May 10, 2017Human Trafficking Awareness Day. This is an unprecedented proclamation for our city. To bring awareness to as many people as possible, NCJWC Toronto has arranged for a special event to be held at Nathan Phillips Square on that day from 12- 2pm

Mayor John Tory will greet participants on this Proclamation Day, and speakers Jennifer Richardson (Director of Ontario’s Anti–Human Trafficking Coordination Office), Bruce Rivers (Executive Director of Covenant House), Casandra Diamond(survivor and Director of BridgeNorth Women's Mentorship & Advocacy Services), and Kevin Vowels (Community Engagement Manager of White Ribbon) will address the audience to reinforce the urgency of eradicating modern-day slavery.

We encourage you to participate and support this historic day to ensure its success. There will be a certain number of tables available for organizations to showcase their efforts. Written material in the form of brochures and flyers as well as other pertinent information could be available for interested attendees. However, you need to confirm your attendance by April April 24th.

Come be a part of the first Human Trafficking Awareness Day in the hopes of one day eliminating its necessity.  Let the public know of the important work you do to combat human trafficking in the GTA.

Join us in our call-to-action to Make Toronto a Human–Trafficking–Free Zone.
